Racine Police seek witnesses in Wednesday shooting

Racine Police responded at 10:26 p.m. Wednesday to the 1100 block of 11th Street after receiving reports of someone shooting a gun in the area.  Officers located an individual who was suffering from a gunshot wound to his back.

The victim, a 19-year-old male, was transported to Ascension Hospital and eventually taken to Milwaukee’s Froedtert Hospital due to the injury.  The injury is not expected to be life threatening.

No one is in custody and the investigation is ongoing.

Racine Police investigators seek any additional information that anyone may have about the crime.  Witnesses, or citizens with information, are urged to call the Racine Police Department Investigations Unit at 262-635-7756.
