Case Student Charged After Pulling Gun Out During A Fight

Pulling Gun Classmate fight

A Case High School student has been charged with possessing a gun after he pulled it out at school during a fight.

On April, 26, De’Avrndre Crawford, 17, was fighting with another student over allegedly stolen money, according to a criminal complaint.

Crawford pulled a pistol out of his pocket, but had it concealed. Another student then pushed his hand back into his pocket, a witness told police.

When officers went to Crawford’s home to follow-up on the incident, they found him in his room with a pistol on his bed. However, Crawford denied bringing the gun to school.

He’s charged with possession of a firearm on school grounds, possession of a dangerous weapon by a person under 18 and disorderly conduct with use of a dangerous weapon.

Editor’s note: This version of the story was corrected to reflect that the witness saw Crawford pull out a gun, but did not point it at the student. Racine County Eye regrets this error.
