Please come and participate in a City of Racine Heritage Preservation Plan Community Workshop in beautiful Downtown Racine during the June 1, 2018 First Friday. An open house style workshop is being held from 5:30P.M. to 7:30P.M. at 413 Main Street in the “living room” of the historic Arcade Apartments (enter from Main Street).
To recap the progress on the plan to date: a series of stakeholder listening sessions have been conducted, site and neighborhood visits have been made, the first Community Workshop was held, and responses are being recorded from the online community workshop On-Line Workshop. With all the information we’ve gathered to date, we’d like to share some initial findings, preview future and potential preservation initiatives, and gather your input. Please join us.
This project is being undertaken by the City of Racine Landmarks Preservation Commission with the assistance of the planning firm The Lakota Group and coordinated by the Department of City Development.
If you have not yet had the opportunity, also feel free to visit the Heritage Preservation Plan website at this link: Racine Heritage Preservation You can keep up to date on the Heritage Preservation Plan’s progress, review heritage preservation materials, and leave your preservation ideas, stories, questions, suggestions, and recommendations.
The more feedback and ideas we can receive, the better the plan will reflect the City’s heritage preservation ideas and goals. So please bring a friend or family member and join us as we move forward.
