fire9Racine firefighters put out a car fire that started in the 300 block of State St. under the bridge Sunday morning.

No one was injured.

A person walking by noticed the car filling up with smoke and called 911 at 7:58 a.m. Michael Brooks, the owner of the car, was there at time. He told officials with the fire department that the reason he didn’t try to put out the fire was because it was “too much,” according to the Racine Fire Department.

Firefighters putting out the fire quickly. The damage was contained to the car. However, the estimated damage is $2,000. Officials have not determined the cause or the origin of the fire, which is still under investigation.
