Sturtevant – Kiss the Cook Cafe, 9225 Durand Ave., is closing after the owners, Robert and Cookie Niemec, have decided to serve their last dinner specials Tuesday.
The restaurant started six years ago at a location in Racine at the corner of Taylor Avenue and Highway 11 where Blue Bear is now. They moved out to Sturtevant in 2015.
Robert said the restaurant has received high reviews on social media and people seemed to like their food, but the pattern was just “too inconsistent” for them to remain open.
“We’re certainly not opposed to the possibility of someone buying it from us,” he said. “It’s just more than I want to deal with right now.”
The restaurant will close at 8 p.m. Tuesday.
According to their Facebook page.
“Stop in tonight to enjoy one last meal at Kiss The Cook and say your goodbyes for tonight will be our last night open so come in while you still can!!! I hope to see each and every one of you for dinner! New to Kiss The Cook? Stop in tonight and give us a try while you still have a chance!”
