Obituary: Ken Stearns, Co-Founder Of Belle City Brassworks

Surrounded by family, Kenneth Robert Stearns, “Ken”, 71, passed away peacefully on Saturday at his residence.  He was born in Racine on September 9, 1945, and was the son of  Orrin and Joyce (Nee: Larson) Stearns.

Ken enjoyed sports and music.  He was a brass enthusiast who taught drum corps in his earlier days and was one of the founders of the Belle City Brassworks He will be dearly missed.  Surviving are his mother, Joyce Stearns; sons, Thomas E. Stearns, Orrin K. (Jennifer) Stearns; grandchildren, Kingston Avery Stearns and Oliver Orrin Stearns; brothers, Jon D. Stearns, William (Carlene) Stearns; nephews; other relatives and dear friends.  He was preceded in death by his father Orrin.

Per Ken’s wishes private services will be held.  Memorials to the Belle City Brassworks or the  Johnny Hemkes Memorial Scholarship have been suggested.
