Tis’ the season for ice skating and warm beverages. The Downtown Racine Corporation (DRC) has you covered, at least for the ice skating. The community ice rink on Monument Square will be open to the public on Wednesday from noon to 9 p.m. It will be open 7 days a week, weather-permitting, from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. If you own a pair of skates, skating is free of charge. There will be free skate rentals every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at the following times:

  • Friday: 4 to 7 p.m.
  • Saturday: noon to 4 p.m.
  • Sunday: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

To rent skates, a form of ID is required as collateral.

The Downtown Racine Corporation is looking for volunteers to work the ice rink’s skate rental station on the weekends. To volunteer, visit racinedowntown.com/volunteer.

To check if the rink is open on inclement weather days, check the DRC’s Facebook page or their website.

“The downtown rink is a great winter amenity, where many memories will be made. None of this would have been possible without the generous sponsorships, donations and the hard work of our community volunteers.” – Kelly Kruse, DRC Executive Director
