CALEDONIA, WI – Police surrounded a residence Friday afternoon in the 5200 Block of Willowview Road after they received a report of a woman with a gun.

Lt. Gary Larsen, of the Caledonia Police Department, said the department has taken that person into custody and the neighborhood is safe.

The call came in at about 12:26 p.m. Officers set up a perimeter around the house with guns drawn as part of a tactical response that included a K-9 unit. The woman was transported away from the scene by ambulance at about 1:13 p.m.

“The mom was intoxicated and upset with her daughter and boyfriend for not paying rent,” Larsen said. “She went into their bedroom armed with a pistol, left and came back into the room.”

The woman held the gun but didn’t point it at the couple, Larsen said.

“They all three then left and went outside,” he said. “It’s not clear if the woman had the gun outside, but she went back into the house. The daughter and her boyfriend stayed outside.”

Calling 911, police arrived and set up a perimeter outside the house. They tried to get the woman to come outside, but she refused to follow their orders. Upon entering the home, the woman was uncooperative and they used their Tasers on her.

Police have not released the woman’s name because she hasn’t been officially charged yet.
