A suspect in the shooting death of Racine Police officer John Hetland has been arrested, according to the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department.

Shot to death during an armed robbery on June 17 in a Racine bar, Hetland died trying to protect a bartender from an armed gunman. He was a 24-year veteran of the Racine Police Department. His funeral was held Wednesday.

The suspect has been apprehended in Milwaukee, according to a story by WTMJ and Fox 6.

In a press release, Sgt. Chris Hannah, media contact with the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department, said a suspect was in custody.
